ABOUT ME:



    Hello! My name is Yoona Oh. I am a junior at Cornell University studying Fashion Design Management and pursuing a minor in Design and Environmental Analysis under the College of Human Ecology.

    My interdisciplinary array of art and design interests me in both the active creation of fashion design and environmental design, I am concentrating my career on working as a creative director for merchandising, designing at high-end brand events, or becoming a UI/UX designer if the fashion industry. 

    I am actively seeking internship opportunities to enhance my interest and skills further, so don't hesitate to contact me!

My portfolio reflects various media, including traditional forms and experimental materials. Some artworks express my journey and development through the different media I have explored. I believe that my stories can resonate with people through my art, even though they may interpret them differently. CHAOS 
My main focus was to depict the layers and depth that clothings can make. To create more attention to the piece, i added dried acrylic paint (that I have collected)

I experimented with old materials to form an upcylcing garment

For this piece, I experimented how materials (that are not fabric base) can converse with the human body/fashion

HALLUCINATION

The train is emotionally unstable to the point that it hallucinates the setting around it. With a colorful mix of realistic and abstract form, it imagines a fun and bright world

SCHOOL STRESS
This is a series I did to represent my school stress. In the left drawing, the eyes in the middle of the locker represents the expectations I have from the people around me. In the middle drawing, I daydream about escaping from all the pressure I have and wanting freedom. In the right drawing, it expresses where reality hits me and I am still overloaded with work.

CONFUSION
Abstract patterns can be confusing; there are no meanings to them, leaving people to question them. As I look back, I, too, feel confused about my surroundings.

OVERWHELMING THOUGHTS

The yellow liquid that is gushing out of the mouth are small tight figures. These figures represent my overwhelming thoughts that causes me to melt and feel burned out.

This piece represents my feelings of being stuck in a never-ending hole.

DROWNING
I added texture to this piece by cutting out each of the waves. the waves represents how my emotions drowns myself as I try to catch a breath.

PILES OF FEELINGS

In I sculptured faceless human figures, each one equipped with a different body language to depict the ambivalent feelings (such as loneliness and desperation)

UNFOLD
This installation captivates the different usage of materials and lights. The experiment resulted to unfold a diverse and abstract style.

REACHING IN
The wired human figures are reaching in to gain stability. The further the figures are from the head, the looser their balance is; they can barely hang on. The closer the figures are to the head, it reaches in, being able to stability at the key of the head.
